Amit Ravindernath Sharma, born on 13 April 1978, is a distinguished Indian film director and producer. He gained widespread acclaim with his 2018 film Badhaai Ho, which became one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films of the year, earning ₹220.34 crore ($31 million) globally. Sharma’s early career saw him directing Tevar in 2015, a remake of the Telugu film Okkadu, though the film received mixed reviews. Despite this, his breakthrough came with Badhaai Ho, which solidified his position as a significant filmmaker in the Indian film industry.

Sharma’s filmography includes directing and writing for Lust Stories 2 (2023) and producing Trial Period (2023). His upcoming project, Maidaan (2024), is a biographical film about the life of Syed Abdul Rahim, showcasing his continued dedication to storytelling in Indian cinema.
